Let's make that portfolio website stand out with a favicon.

What's a favicon?

It's an icon associated with your website name that shows up on the tabs in your browser.

A favicon allows you to quickly see which tab is which when you have 34 tabs open. Not that an instructional design professional ever has 34 tabs open at once ever. OK, maybe not in the same browser. Spread across the three different browsers open at once.

Why do I need a favicon?

A favicon is easy to make and adds a little extra branding to your portfolio website.

I'm sold. How do I make my own?

I made mine using Canva. I posted the steps below.

Alright, favicon made. Now what?

The steps to import your favicon into your browser will vary by whatever website editor you're using. All you need to do is go to your favorite search engine and look for "insert favicon"+ website editor. For example, "insert favicon wix." The steps should pop right up.
